|River Cuale Cultural Center Presents La Muerte Chiquita
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The French call it “the little death”, Octavio Paz called it “The Double Flame”, but what do we really mean when we say “La Muerte Chiquita"?
This expression is referred to as an orgasm in many countries, but this theatrical work seeks to show more the little Death as much more than that by illustrating and focusing on the magic that lives with the giving of pleasure from one person to another.
This unique and unusual theatrical staging is presented throughout the month of June, every Saturday and Sunday with 2 daily functions at 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm at the Cuale Cultural Center Theater in the heart of Puerto Vallarta.
“La Muerte Chiquita” was conceived and written by Daniel Ramiro who is part of Boa Viagem theater group, and is debuting
as director, and includes a cast of Borrayo Carolina, Anakaren Muñoz, Beto Mora, Carlos and Alvaro Miyagi Casa.
Ramiro Daniel is a young, enthusiastic, persevering and talented writer who managed to make a play that deals with hidden fantasy, deep fears and the methods used to satisfy the sexual monster within each one of us.
Few people give in to their darker passions and dare to live out the forbidden. Afraid of being ridiculed, they toy with the taboo and live a double-life.
This piece challenges its audience to consider their hidden limits. The text is sexual but not literal, as it reflects a reality hidden in privacy. Characters live and create a game that invites others to observe, touch and play, allowing spectators to revel in what others see and feel.
This, at times, uncomfortable work manages to integrate the unwitting audience into the drama and to become part of the game, as active participants and spectators.
“La Muerte Chiquita” (The Little Death) is performed Saturdays and Sundays, 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm, at Theater River Cuale Island, Historic Center, Puerto Vallarta. Admission is 60 pesos and audience capacity is 25.
